Sakura Season in Japan
Hello and Welcome to www.nipponcraft.com,
As an yearly event of our blog, we are uploading some photos of this year's Sakura flowers that start to bloom in full in Japan. The Sakura are coming slowly than usual this year, because it was still very cold for the Sakura at the end of March. Although the Sakura season in Tokyo are ending now with today's rain and strong wind, but the best season of other areas are still ahead.
New semester and also new fiscal year of many companies begin in this Sakura season, so the Sakura and the fresh year is a cultural set in Japan.
As shown in the bottom photograph, it is allowed in Japan to have alcohol outside. People of all ages enjoy talking, eating and drinking under the full bloom Sakura. This customary event of "HANAMI" (Sakura picnic) dates back in the 17th century. "HANAMI" may be an excuse for having fun outside. After the party outside, people are encouraged to take back the trashes home...

Nipponcraft's 6th Anniversary
Hello and Welcome to www.nipponcraft.com,
Today, 3 March 2017, is the Nipponcraft's 6th anniversary since the shop was opened on March 3rd, 2011. We appreciate customers' shopping and interests.
In Japan, March 3rd is a special day for little girls and is called "Hinamatsuri" (see also Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinamatsuri). Families with daughters wish their healthy growth and happy lifetime with displaying dolls at home.
The following snapshots were taken at a "Hinamatsuri" event in Katsuura (勝浦), a fisherman's town facing to the Pacific Ocean. Katsuura is a 130 km drive from Tokyo. According to an event staff, approximately 6,000 Hinamatsuri dolls were displayed on the platforms. Old families from all over Japan contributed their dolls to the city for this event. Their daughters should have been grown happily, and the dolls' next role is to make visitors to the city happy.
